Homer Curran was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1885 to a wealthy family that manufactured wheals. Instead of continuing with the family business, Homer, wanting to pursue a career in music, went to Stanford to study piano.After graduating, and performing and writing musicals, he started managing theaters in San Francisco, where he now lived. A large chain of theaters in New York, The Shuberts, to head off their rival, started working with Curran to open a new West Coast theater, which opened in San Francisco in 1922 as The Curran. In the decades since, The Curran has successfully staged many pre-broadway shows.As seen 5 October 2022.
