Description
This historic building, combining Victorian and Classical styles, was erected at 280 Grove Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was designed by architect Louis H. Broome and was completed in 1896. Broome was one of New Jersey`s premiere architects and was the state`s official architect under Governor Woodrow Wilson before he became president. The solid structure is made of granite and marble. It is one of the renowned City Hall buildings of the era. bestowing more than a bit of luster to Jersey City, Hudson County`s largest city and second most populous only to Newark, in Essex County.
