Florence Palace in Rome, Italy #259922658
Description
Palazzo Firenze is located in Rome, in the Campo Marzio area, in the homonymous square of Florence. It belonged to the del Monte family, then to the Medici of Florence hence the name: formerly the seat of the Ministry of Justice, it currently houses the Dante Alighieri Society since 1926 and the Italian UNESCO national commission since 1950. The pictorial decoration of the rooms of the palace was traditionally attributed to Primaticcio or Federico Zuccari, but the del Monte, in reality, turned to the Bolognese Prospero Fontana, who created the frescoes for three rooms of the building: the loggia on the ground floor already called del Primaticcio, the Camerino dei Continenti and the Sala del Granduca.
