This is a Buteo plagiatus species, Accipitridae family. Known as the gray hawk or the mexican goshawk. They mainly feed on lizards and snakes, but also small mammals, frogs and birds. Observed at Cerro Cahuí Protected Biotope, Petén, northern Guatemala.
