Frescoes in St. Panteleimon Cathedral in New Athos Monastery in Abkhazia #260988399
Description
Panteleimon Cathedral is crowned with five domes; the height of the central one is 40 meters. The cathedral is 53.3 m long and 33.7 m wide. The cathedral was built in the neo-Byzantine style, common in Russian church architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From the inside, the walls were painted in 1911-1914 by craftsmen from the village of Palekh, Vladimir province, and a group of Moscow artists led by M. V. Molov and A. V. Serebryakov.
