Description
This is an Anteos clorinde butterfly species, Pieridae family, Coliadinae subfamily. Neotropical distribution. Common name: the white angled sulphur. Yes, butterflies drink water. It was a hot sunny day during the dry season and this butterfly was thirsty. We can see the proboscis while drinking water. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Peten department, northern Guatemala. As all pollinators this butterfly population and distribution is threatened by climate change.
