Memorial plaque to The Pony Express 5 #261288302
Description
Despite the fact that The Pony Express looms ever large in our memory, it only lasted about 19 months, between between April 1860 - October 1861. However, during this time, it was a vital link between the new territory of California, her greatly growing wealth and population, and the cities and her people `back East`. This plaque is dedicated to the San Francisco location of the Pony Express. It was changing technology, the introduction of the Transcontinental Telegraph that took out the need for the Pony Express.
