Pale-banded Crescent On A Leaf Stock Photo

A beautiful Anthanassa tulcis neotropical species butterfly, Nymphalidae family, on a leaf with open wings, dorsal view. Known as the Pale-banded Crescent butterfly. Can be found in open fields from Argentina north through Central America and Mexico to South Texas. Observed at Petén Itzá lake near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén department, Guatemala. As all pollinators this butterfly population and distribution is threatened by climate change.
