Spear tip embedded in Masmak Postern Gate, Al-Masmak, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia #263561311
Description
The main entrance to the Al-Masmak Fortress was a large gate, within which was a smaller postern gate almost a meter off the ground known as the Al Khokha. When the fort was stormed by Abdulaziz Al Saud in January 1902, a spear was thrown at the then-governor. It missed but the strength of the throw left it stuck in the gate, where it remains to this day. You can see it halfway between the two lower nails in the frame.
