Built in 1890 by one of the silver magnates of the Comstock Lode by James Fair, it was first used as a boarding school for the young ladies of the cities society.The school moved out after James daughter, Virginia, inherited it, so it next was used by the Cosmo Club, a social club for the cities elite. Virginia eventually sold the property, and after a couple of other uses, at one point, sat vacant for about ten years, until it was beautifully refurbished and reopened, in 1981, as this boutique hotel.As seen 14 December 2022.
