Description
Known as Hadrian`s Tomb, the Castel Sant`Angelo is a fortress located on the right bank of the Tiber, a short distance from the Vatican City. The Aelian Bridge, known as Ponte Santââ¬â¢Angelo since the Middle Ages for its connection to the history of the nearby Castel Santââ¬â¢Angelo, was built between 133 and 134 AD by Emperor Hadrian, to link the left bank of the Tiber with his mausoleum.
