Description
Franklin Hall was a dance hall and auditorium built in 1895. Being a four story structure, it also had a very popular female impersonator.Being made of wood, common for the time period, it is also surprising to have survived the 1906 Earthquake and Fire, which destroyed a lot of the city, including City Hall.Because of this, City Hall and many of the cities leaders were transferred to here, for a period of about a year and a half. After years of declining popularity, Franklin Hall was finally torn down, in 1941, and replaced by a gas station, and then this Walgreens. As seen 14 December 2022.
