Title
Circles of latitude above and below the equator #265794103
Description
At the William J. Clinton Presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas there are many large globes depicting various environmental perspectives. This sphere shows the tropic of Cancer north and tropic of Capricorn south latitude circles that connect all places of the same latitude. They are roughly 23.4 degrees north and south of the equator, which is the circle that bisects the Earth. All locations on earth are described by their latitude and longitude position in degrees. One degree of latitude equals about 364,000 feet 69 miles on a map.
