Sun Moon Lake (Shao language: Zintun or Zintun a Wazaqan[2]) is a semi-natural freshwater lake and hydropower reservoir located in Riyue Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan the pool is the second largest lake in Taiwan Island ( Second only to Zengwen Reservoir) and the largest semi-natural lake and water reservoir for power generation. The average water surface of the pool is about 736 meters above sea level, the normal area is about 7.93 square kilometers (about 8.4 square kilometers when the water level is full), and the maximum water depth is 27 meters.
