Comic Cons, exhibitions are full of artists selling their artworks of their favorite superhero character. To the point that the likes of Marvel, DC , Disney and many others allow you to contact them and apply for permission to do so under their fan art promotion schemes, sometimes it's a no, other times it's a straight yes and sometimes they require a percentage of sales revenue to allow this.
