Description
Exterior of the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, with two stories of stained glass windows. The Auditorium, now known as the Mother Church of Country Music, was originally the Union Gospel Tabernacle. It was the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974. At one point, the National Life Insurance Company planned to demolish the building. However, the community ralied to save the building and, in 1989, the new owner, Gaylord Entertainment Company, started renovations on the building. Today, it continues to serve the community as a concert venue and was named a Rock and Roll landmark in May of 2022
