Greenlink is a subsea and underground electricity interconnector linking the power markets in Ireland and Great Britain. The hopper barge Pompei is pictured securely moored 500m off Freshwater West, in Pembrokeshire, where it is assisting in tunnelling under the sand dunes to insert ducting to carry two cables. It has a capacity for carrying over 1200 tons of rock. This prevents damage to the dune system. In the foreground, marram grass grows on and holds together the sand of the dunes.
