Buffalo, or commonly called water buffalo & x28;to distinguish it from African buffalo& x29;, is a ruminant animal that becomes livestock for many nations in the world, especially Asia and South America. This animal is the domestication of the wild buffalo & x28;the Indians call it arni& x29; which can still be found in areas of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand, Malaysia. Currently the wild buffalo population in Asia is starting to decline and it is feared that in the future there will be no more wild buffalo populations to be found. Adult buffalo can weigh around 300 kg to 600 kg. Wild buffalo can weigh more, female wild buffalo can weigh up to 800 kg and male wild buffalo can weigh up to 1200 kg. The average weight of a male buffalo is 900 kg and the average height at the shoulder of the buffalo is 1.7 meters.
