Yelamu Ramaytush Ohlone Costanoan tribute 2 #269627334
Description
The Yelamu were a group of the Ramaytush. While the Ramaytush as a whole lived throughout the San Francisco Peninsula for over ten thousand years before the 'discovery' by Captain Portala for Spain, the Yelamu specifically lived in present day San Francisco. While the Ramaytush and other, allied groups called themselves Ohlone,it was the Spanish who called them 'Costanoan',meaning 'Coastal People'. As we do not know what,if anything, the Yelamu people called themselves, the term 'Yelamu' has been applied, based on the dialect of the language they spoke. Sadly, there are no know living dependents left. This condominium triplex at 1111-1115 Guerrero Street in San Francisco wish to pay tribute to all the Ramaytush Ohlone for their ecological knowledge and ways of living. As seen 1 February 2023.
