Teahouses are mountain lodges located along many of the trekking routes in Nepal. There are numerous teahouses as people trek in the Everest, Langtang and Annapurna regions. These basic accommodations provide meal and lodging and are usually owned and lived in by a traditional family. Tea houses generally offer a variety of western and local (Nepali, Tibetan and Chinese) cuisine. The more remote and less travelled the route is, the more rustic the lodging will be and there will be fewer food options.
