Description

The first monument that was erected in ?ory after World War II was the monument to Fallen Heroes for Homeland and Democracy. Its unveiling took place on July 18, 1959. The monument survived until 2002. It was modernized this year. On the front wall of the high pedestal set on a two-stage rise, the inscription was changed to MEMORY FIGHTING FOR FREE POLAND. Above the inscription is a crowned eagle. On the remaining walls of the pedestal there are emblems with images of eagles from various historical periods. These are the images of the Piast and Jagiellonian eagles and from the period of the Silesian Uprisings.
