Delhi: 5th June 2019: Humayun's Tomb is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Delhi,India. It is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and was commissioned by his wife,Empress Bega Begum,in the 16th century. The tomb is situated in Nizamuddin East,near the crossing of Mathura Road and Lodhi Road.The construction of Humayun's Tomb was completed in 1572 AD,and it is considered one of the earliest examples of Mughal architecture in India. The tomb is built of red sandstone and white marble and is set in a beautiful garden complex with water channels,pavilions,and walkways.The tomb is a magnificent structure,with a dome that rises to a height of 140 feet,making it one of the tallest structures of its time. The tomb also features intricate carvings,calligraphy,and inlaid work of precious stones.Today,Humayun's Tomb is a popular tourist attraction and a place of historical significance.
