The Siamese Fighting Betta Fish has a long and storied history as a species, having been used in organized fighting competitions since the 19th century. Considered one of the most vibrant fish species in the world, they are known for their bright, vibrant fins and long and sinuous bodies. Siamese Fighting Betta Fish are territorial and should not be kept together as they will likely fight with one another. Instead, they should be kept in individual tanks, preferably with multiple hiding spots for them to retreat to. When provided with proper care and an environment that meets their needs, these fish can live for up to five years and make an excellent addition to any fishkeeper’s collection.
