Description
The Atlas Moth (Attacus Atlas) is one of the largest and most spectacular moths in the world, with a wingspan reaching up to 12 inches in width. It is native to Southeast Asia and can be found in a variety of habitats, including forests and lowland shrublands. The colorful patterns on their wings serve as camouflage to protect them from predators. They feed primarily on nectar, fruits, and sap but occasionally eat other insects, including mosquito larvae. The lifespan of an Atlas Moth averages two to three weeks, during which time they will mate, lay eggs, and die.
