The Western Scrub-Jay is the only species of crow native to the state of Arizona. It is a medium-sized bird with a gray-blue head and upperparts, grayish underparts, and a blue-gray tail. Its head is crowned with a blue crest and it has a white throat and underparts. The Western Scrub-Jay is found in woodlands and desert scrub, where it eats insects, fruits, and seeds. It is a social bird and often joins other scrub-jays in communal roosts at night.
