The Church, the second room in the Scarisoara glacier, Romania. #271706881
Description
The Apuseni mountains are a mountain range in Transylvania, part of the Western Carpathians in Romania. The landscape is made on the way to the Scarisoara cave or the Scarisoara Glacier, which houses the largest underground glacier in Romania. The cave is located at an altitude of 1165m, on the edge of the Scarisoara karst plateau. A narrow path dug into the rock and over 200 metal stairs anchored in the walls facilitate the descent of the 48 m as measured by the depth of the avenue. On its bottom, a thick layer of snow is kept throughout the year - the first sign of the frozen world sheltered in the depths.
