Description
The Church of St. Donat (Croatian: Crkva sv. Donata), formerly the 9th century Church of the Holy Trinity, is the most valuable pre-Romanesque monument in Croatia and a symbol of the city. It is 27 metres high and 22 metres wide. According to legend, it was built by Bishop Donat of Zadar and dedicated to him in the 15th century. Thanks to its good acoustics, the International Festival of Medieval and Renaissance Music has been held here regularly since 1960.
