The Goddess of Mercy Temple, also known as Kuan Yin Teng or Guan Im Teng (Guan Yin Temple) to Penangites is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Penang. The temple was built by early Chinese immigrants who came to settle down in Penang island. The foundation was laid in 1728 and the building completed in 1800.
