Pictured is the upper portion of a bronze Amelia Earhart sculpture by Gary Lee Price at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens annual spring festival called Dallas Blooms in 2023. It is part of Price's 'Great Contributor Series'. Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and writer. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She disappeared July 2nd, 1937 over the Pacific Ocean en route to Howard Island from Lae, New Guinea. She was declared dead January 5th, 1939, at the age of 41.
