The gardens of Upper Barrakka overlook the “Three Cities” which include the Maltese towns of Senglea (isla), Cospicua (bormia) and Vittoriosa (birgu). They were built as a small fortress during the time of the Order of Malta and the great maritime battles, the ramparts and fortifications have in them the memory of the great siege that took place on the Grand Harbour.
