The yellow scorpion inhabits dry and desert regions in northern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and the Middle East. The typical habitat is deserts or dunes. As shelters, it uses voids under stones, crevices in rocks, or shallow (up to 20 cm deep) holes that it digs on its own.Despite the dangers associated with keeping yellow scorpions in captivity, these arthropods are readily available in the exotic pet trade. Due to their aggressive nature and strong venom, death hunters are recommended only for the most experienced arachnid fanciers.
