We tend to think of trees as good ways to 'Block strong winds' and 'Soaking up lots of excess water',as many trees can live hundreds of years,and some can even live thousands of years. But given a good combination of enough rains and winds,almost anything can be knocked down. This tree,planted in the sidewalk on Sutter Street near Stockton,to provide shade while adding some beauty,was toppled with such force,its roots buckled the sidewalk. As witnessed 23 March 2023.
