Description
With its starry flowers this plant grow wild in the Lancashire Countryside. Its fruit is called a sloe and these are picked in early autumn ,washed and placed in containers with sugar and covered with the alcohol Gin. This is left until late December being occasionally shaken and then is drunk around Christmas time as a festive drink called appropriately Sloe Gin. It is delicious.
