The Second Temple, formerly located in Jerusalem, was built after the destruction of the First Temple.In 586 BC, the Jews were taken captive to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar II of the New Babylonian Kingdom, where they became prisoners of Babylon and the First Temple was destroyed.
