Description
Lavaux vineyard terraces are located in Vaud, western Switzerland, on the north shore of Lake Geneva, stretching for about 30 kilometers from Chillon Castle in the east to the eastern suburbs of Lausanne in the west. There is evidence that grapes have been grown in this area since Roman times, and the current grape terraces were first built in the 11th century, and the grapes produced are the raw materials for the production of high-quality wines. It was included in the World Cultural Heritage in 2007.
