Exterior of he Evita Peron Museum in El Calafate, Patagonia, Argentina in 2014 #274497139
Description
The small town of Calafate (population about 6,500) in the southern province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, is the last outpost before entering the Glaciers National Park. One of the town's cultural highlights is the Evita Peron Museum. Not surprisingly, there is another Evita Peron Museum which is much larger, 1,300 air miles to the north in Buenos Aires. Calafate is in the region of Patagonia which spans both Argentina and Chile. It is mountainous, with vast glaciers and fjords. The outpost signifies that nearly many decades after her death, she remains a popular figure in her country, much more so than her dictator husband, Juan Peron.
