Description
The Hoodo Pavilion of The Byodo-in (Hoodo Pavilion of The Byodo-in, 1053) was built in the Heian period. It was originally a Buddhist hall dedicated to Amitabha Buddha in a noble mansion. The building is built near the water, with a beautiful appearance, rich interior carvings and murals, integrating the plastic arts of that time.
