Buddhism,which some people describe as a philosophy because they do not have a God concept,while other do call a true religion,started in Northern India 2,500 years ago,by Buddha Shakyamuni,and has since spread throughout the world,and modernized. Modern Buddhism,called Kadampa Buddhism,was introduced by scholar and meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. The first of this type of meditation centers in America was started right here in San Francisco in 1991. As seen 24 March 2023.
