Pictured is a bronze statue of Alysheba by renowned equine artist Lisa Perry at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. This 1.25 scale 1000 pound statue was unveiled on September 29, 2004, the year that the racetrack hosted the Breed's Cup World Championships. Alysheba was owned by Dorothy & Pamela Scharbauer of Midland, Texas. Hall of Fame Trainer Jack Van Berg and Hall of Fame Jockey Chris McCarron led 'America's Horse' to being the sport's richest Thoroughbred with purse earnings of $6.6 million. The statue is outside the main East Gate entrance to Lone Star Park.
