Description
The Mures is a 789 kilometre long river in Eastern Europe. It originates in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains, Romania and joins the Tisza river at Szeged, in southeastern Hungary. In Romania, its length is 761 km. The city of Arad is the municipality of residence of the county of the same name, crossed by the river Mures, located at the border of the historical regions Banat and Crisana. Arad is the most important trans-European road and rail transportation junction point in western Romania, included in the 4th Pan-European Corridor linking Western Europe to South-Eastern European and Middle Eastern countries.
