A beautiful photograph of The Numbat #276174314
Description
The Numbat is a small mammal that lives in the dry forests and savannas of Western Australia. They are about 45cm long and weigh about 500g. The Numbat's coat is light brown with characteristic white horizontal stripes. They have long, pointed ears, which make it easy for them to hear and find prey, mainly ants and insects. Numbats also have a long and small nose, which makes it easier for them to get food in the ants' soil holes. This is a rare and endangered animal due to habitat loss and human hunting. Currently, a program to conserve and protect Numbat is being implemented to help prevent this animal from disappearing on Earth.
