A view of historic Concord School of Philosophy, founded by Amos Bronson Alcott. The Father of Louisa May Alcott, the author of the famous book Little Women, Amos Bronson Alcott was a lifelong educator who advocated pioneering educational principles that were considered outrageous at the time, but are widely accepted today. The Concord School of Philosophy, which was a longtime goal of Alcott's, held summer lectures and discussions of philosophy in Concord, Massachusetts from 1879 to 1888.
