Bluewing belongs to the annual erect herbaceous plant, with flowers usually arranged in terminal cymes bracts linear, sepals ellipsoid, green or slightly purplish-red at the top and edges, corolla exceeding the sepals corolla tube pale lavender, back yellow, upper lip erect, pale blue, broadly ovate, lower lip lobes rectangular or nearly circular, purple-blue, capsule oblong, yellow. The entire flower is mostly blue-purple and has a large spot similar to the double ears on a pig's head, hence it is called blue pig ears or blue moon. It is an important grass and flower plant in high-temperature areas in the summer and autumn seasons.
