Benavente Casttle Royalty-Free Stock Image

The Torre del Caracol is an architectural construction located in the Spanish town of Benavente (province of Zamora). It is a tower that was part of the Castillo de la Mota de Benavente, one of the few parts still standing of the immense and luxurious castle-palace that the Pimentels owned in this town. In its heyday it was one of the most important and sumptuous fortresses in all of Spain. The extension of its gardens covered a large part of the valley through which the Órbigo river passes, which stretches out at its feet. A multitude of fountains and sculptures belonging to this garden are still preserved, almost all of them in private hands.
