The rotunda shaped chapel in Smolenice calvary #279103180
Description
The rotunda shaped Neoclassical chapel from the late 19th century, topped with a bell tower, was built by the Pálffy family as their private chapel. This is evident from the inscription on the chapel's facade which reads, "For eternal rest to oneself and one's own. Jozef Pálffy, Count of Erdöd. 1896." Inside the chapel, there is a wooden cross that further signifies its purpose as a family chapel. The original altar and other furnishings have been preserved in the chapel. On the inner side above the entrance, you can admire the beautiful coat of arms of the Jáger Bishop from the original, older Baroque chapel located in the cemetery. Europe, Slovakia.
