Swordsman's Fountain In Wroclaw Stock Image

Fountain with Swordsman - a Wroclaw fountain located on the square in front of the University of Wroclaw and being one of its symbols. It was designed by the professor of the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts, Hugo Lederer, and placed on the University Square on November 26, 1904.In the middle of the University Square, in the middle of a round, shallow swimming pool, there is a marble plinth decorated with sculptures of two seated, naked women. The bowl of the fountain is decorated with four masks, in the mouths of which there are places of water outflow. The culmination of the fountain is a bronze figure, green due to its patina, of a young, naked man who, standing in a harmonious and calm pose of contrapposto, holds in his hand a sword with a curved blade, which was fashionable at the beginning of the century.
