Pattadakal in northern Karnataka, India is an ancient complex of Hindu and Jain temples from the 7th and 8th centuries AD. #281333242
Description

A UNESCO World Heritage Site belonging to the Pattadakal group of monuments is located along the banks of the Malaprabha River, which then flows into the Krishna River. The temple complex is the legacy of the Chalukya dynasty (543-753 AD) rulers who built nine Hindu temples for coronation and royal commemoration purposes. All temples dedicated to Shiva face east. They are decorated with exquisite artistic images, from the repetitive patterns and sculptures of Shiva to other deities of the Hindu pantheon. Along with the nine Shiva temples, there is a shrine dedicated to Parshvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara.
