Description
The bark of a Douglas fir tree is grey-green with highly scented blisters when young. As the tree ages, the bark becomes purple-brown, thick and corky with horizontal fissures. The bark can grow to be very thick with deep crevices revealing the inner furrows on larger trees. The bark is a red-brown, fissured and corky.
