Tower of the Old Lighthouse from Sulina. #281699436
Description
It was built, probably at the beginning of the 19th century, on the right bank of the Danube and belonged to the General Administration of Lighthouses of the Ottoman Empire. On April 1, 1879, the Sulina Lighthouse was handed over to the European Commission of the Danube, which, from that moment, had the task of managing, maintaining and repairing it. In the period 1995-1997, the building was restored by the Ministry of Culture and Religion. Since 2003, it has been under the administration of the Tulcea Eco-Museum Research Institute, being set up as a museum.
