Water birds, alternatively waterbirds or aquatic bird, are a group of birds that live on or around water. Some definitions include only those birds that are found in freshwater ecosystems as water birds, while others make no distinction from seabirds that are found in marine environments. Some water birds, like wading birds are more terrestrial while others, like waterfowls are more aquatic, and their adaptations will vary depending on their environment. These adaptations include webbed feet, beaks, and legs adapted to feed in the water, and the ability to dive from the surface or the air to catch prey in water.
